Seed is becoming a precious commodity. Seed companies are experiencing unexpected demand and shortages have been occuring with increasing frequency. GMO seed is becoming a huge concern and big seed companies are breeding for the commercial grower, not the hobby gardener or home gourmet.
Not so many years ago, hybridizing and selection were done by amateurs. Their goals were flavor, nutrition, and adaptability to local conditions. It's time for a new generation of seed breeders and savers!
