Ornamentals

What defines ornamental gardening may be different for every single gardener - beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.  For the fruit gardener, it may be the perfect kumquat tree.  For the vegetable gardener, it may be a perfect bed of kale.  And for the homeowner interested in his curb appeal, it might even be a perfectly clipped boxwood hedge.  It's pretty subjective.

At The Garden Academy, our ornamental vision is a blended garden - one where fruits, vegetables, trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals all live in a beautiful harmony with garden art, wildlife, family, pets and friends.

For the purposes of organizing our website, we will define "ornamentals" as trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals that are not part of our "production" plants - the fruits, veggies, and herbs.
